September 2025 Trail Day Report
September 21, 2025 was a fantastic Trail Day. Were you there to experience the magic? The good vibes were off the hook and the Vienna Woods Trail looks soooo much better now, thanks to all of you.
We had 34 Volunteers, including Advocate Board Members and State Park Personnel (Gilbert) were present. So many hikers and bikers thanked us for the work we do.
Advocates thanks you too!

Pacific Coffee Roasting, Companion Bake Shop and New Leaf Market provided coffee & breakfast.

Could the day have been any better to spend time on the trail?

Well, unlikely, as the air was cool and the sky bright. We met at the park entrance, enjoyed some tasty pastries from Companion Bake Shop, much needed and delicious coffees from Pacific Coffee Roasting and charged our energy with fruits and snacks from New Leaf Community Markets. Thank you to our generous sponsors for helping us get fully fuelled!

Special Thanks to our photographer Jeff and of course our resident president Robin! And thank you to Joe for picking up the pastries and Jeff for getting the coffee and fruit.

All Revved-Up and Ready to Go Hit The Trail!
What We Accomplished

Project 1: Brushed-back Vienna Woods Trail
-
Targeted the upper ¾ of the heavily-hiked Vienna Woods Trail. By brushing-back we doubled the width of the trail.
-
Invasive English ivy was a primary encroacher, followed by invasive Himalayan Blackberry!

Project 2: Cutting Invasive Acacia Trees
-
Advocates has recently launched an Invasive Plant Removal program led by John Kelbert. With help from folks like yourself and certified chainsaw operators like Andrea we can make a difference to the park!
