Manresa Uplands Campground Prep Day
3/29/26
What a special day we had preparing Manresa Uplands State Campground for the season opening! Partnering with State Parks and Friends of Santa Cruz State Parks who organized and managed the optional overnight camping for volunteers, our crew of 54 participants, including Advocate Board Members and 5 State Park Personnel (Patrick, Julianne, Sammy, Blanca & Vladan) spiffed up the campground. Read on to hear what was accomplished and see the many smiles 😊.

Good Fun, Good Cheer and Good Food! Thanks to our generous sponsors, the group enjoyed much needed and delicious coffees from Pacific Coffee Roasting, pastries from Companion Bake Shop and charged our energy with fruits and snacks from New Leaf Community Markets. A big Thank You to our sponsors!

Thank you to everyone who put aside their valuable weekend time this past Sunday to join us at Manresa Campground to ready it for the upcoming season. The campground looks fabulous and you have made a huge difference!
Volunteers refueled and signed-up for Campground Clean-Up or Rock Rose invasive plant removal.

The Campground Clean-Up Teams: cleaned-out ash from the fire rings, trimmed around the camp site marker posts, cleaned the picnic tables, trimmed and cleared the French drains at the water spigots, cleaned-out the storage lockers and trimmed hanging/encroaching vegetation around the fire rings. Way to go Campground Clean-Up Teams!

Rock Rose Team: the Rock Rose Team focused on removing invasive Rock Rose plants from the campground. Like so many other Invasives, Rock Rose smothers native plants; The Rock Rose Team has given native species a chance to recover.
